Service & Installation Notes
General service guidance only. Use the service manual for your exact engine and exhaust configuration.
- Shut down the engine, allow the exhaust assembly to cool completely, and disconnect the battery to prevent accidental starting before disassembly.
- Support heavy exhaust elbows or risers during removal, and clean both mating surfaces thoroughly while protecting the sealing faces from scratches or gouges.
- Compare the water passage slots on the new Full Flow gaskets against the existing joint requirements; never substitute a Full Flow gasket where a Restrictor or Block Off gasket is specified by the engine manual.
- Position the gasket in the orientation specified by the OEM service manual, reassemble the dry-joint connection, and tighten fasteners to the manufacturer's specified sequence and torque.
- After reassembly, inspect the joint during initial operation; if any exhaust or water leakage or abnormal temperature occurs, stop the engine immediately and inspect the connection.
The Serdamarine Approach
Exhaust parts need a configuration match. Serdamarine focuses on marine exhaust manifolds and their related service parts. Application details, connection requirements and public reference numbers are presented together to support part selection.
Questions Before Replacement
Can this gasket set replace Restrictor or Block Off dry-joint gaskets?
No. This set contains only the Full Flow version (referencing MerCruiser 864547A02, 27-864547A02, 27-864547A1, GLM 37910, and Sierra 18-0721). Restrictor and Block Off gaskets are separate versions with different coolant passage openings.
Does this Full Flow gasket fit both 7° and 14° MerCruiser dry-joint elbows?
Yes, when the connection uses a Full Flow gasket on an open dry-joint manifold and riser, the listed applications include GM V6 and small-block V8 7° dry-joint configurations (2002–2004) and 14° dry-joint configurations (2005–2010).
