Service & Installation Notes

General service guidance only. Use the service manual for your exact engine and exhaust configuration.

1. Ensure the engine is completely cool and disconnected from accidental starting before loosening exhaust manifold fasteners.
2. Support the exhaust manifold while removing hardware so the weight of the casting does not damage studs, bolts, or mating surfaces.
3. Clean old gasket material from the cylinder head and manifold mating surfaces carefully, keeping debris out of the exhaust ports and checking surfaces for flatness or corrosion.
4. Compare the new gaskets against the exhaust port layout and fastener holes on your engine and manifold, then install and tighten fasteners to the sequence and specification in your engine service manual.
5. After reassembly, inspect the manifold joint during initial operation and stop the engine immediately to check the installation if any exhaust leak or abnormal condition appears.
