Dry-Joint Exhaust Manifold Gasket Repair Kit for MerCruiser GM V8 Small-Block — Standard Cooling

This aftermarket exhaust manifold gasket repair kit is for MerCruiser GM V8 small-block dry-joint engines from 2002–2004 (7° exhaust-joint generation) and 2005–2010 (14° exhaust-joint generation) equipped with standard cooling. It includes exhaust manifold gaskets, restricted-flow and full-flow dry-joint elbow gaskets, and drain plugs with O-rings corresponding to MerCruiser component references such as 27-33395, 27-864850A02, and 27-864547A1.

This is the standard-cooling kit version and is not the separately specified closed-cooling block-off gasket set.

Service & Installation Notes

General service guidance only. Use the service manual for your exact engine and exhaust configuration.

1. Allow the engine and exhaust components to cool completely, shut off the engine, and prevent accidental starting before servicing the exhaust system.
2. Identify the restricted-flow dry-joint elbow gaskets (864850A02 / 27-864850A02 series) and the full-flow dry-joint elbow gaskets (864547 series) by their water-passage layout and reference numbers. Do not treat restricted-flow, full-flow, and closed-cooling block-off gaskets as interchangeable based only on a similar outer profile.
3. Support heavy exhaust manifolds and elbows during disassembly and reassembly, and clean all sealing surfaces carefully without gouging the mating faces.
4. Install each gasket and the drain plugs with O-rings in the positions specified by the MerCruiser service manual for your standard-cooling dry-joint configuration.
5. After reassembly, inspect for exhaust or cooling-water leaks under normal cooling-water supply. Shut down the engine immediately and inspect the joints if any leakage or abnormal temperature is observed.
