Full Flow Dry-Joint Exhaust Elbow Gasket
This full-flow (open) dry-joint exhaust elbow gasket (referencing MerCruiser 27-864547A02) seals the connection between an open dry-joint exhaust manifold and riser on specified MerCruiser GM V6 and V8 small-block engines (4.3L, 5.0L, 5.7L, and 6.2L) from 2002 onward. It is designed specifically for open full-flow passages—including 2002–2004 installations with a 7° elbow design and 2005–2010 installations with a 14° elbow design—and is not a restrictor or block-off gasket.
Configuration & Specifications
| Joint Configuration | Dry Joint |
|---|---|
| Flow Pattern | Full Flow (Open passage; not a restrictor or block-off gasket) |
| Manifold & Riser Arrangement | Dry Joint Open Manifold and Riser |

Engine Applications
This gasket fits MerCruiser Stern / Out Drive GM V6 and V8 small-block engines equipped with a dry-joint exhaust system requiring a full-flow (open) elbow gasket. Do not select a dry-joint gasket solely by engine displacement; verify the required gasket flow pattern, part number, and the installed manifold and elbow arrangement before ordering.

Service & Installation Notes
General service guidance only. Use the service manual for your exact engine and exhaust configuration.
- Ensure the engine is completely shut off and cooled down, and disconnect the battery or disable the ignition system to prevent accidental starting during service.
- Support heavy exhaust elbows or risers during removal and installation, and clean the mating surfaces carefully without gouging or damaging the sealing planes.
- Match the gasket water passage slots directly against the manifold and elbow arrangement specified in your engine manual. Do not replace a required restrictor or block-off gasket with a full-flow gasket.
- After reassembly, inspect the joint under normal operating conditions; if any leakage or abnormal exhaust temperature occurs, shut down the engine immediately and inspect the joint.
The Serdamarine Approach
Exhaust parts need a configuration match. Serdamarine focuses on marine exhaust manifolds and their related service parts. Application details, connection requirements and public reference numbers are presented together to support part selection.
Questions Before Replacement
Can this full-flow gasket be used in place of GLM 37900 or GLM 37920?
No. This product is the full-flow (open) gasket corresponding to MerCruiser 27-864547A02, GLM 37910, and Sierra 18-0721. GLM 37900 is a restrictor version and GLM 37920 is a block-off version. Do not substitute a full-flow gasket where a restricted or blocked-off passage is required.
What do the 7° and 14° designations refer to on 2002–2010 MerCruiser dry-joint engines?
The 7° and 14° figures refer to the installed dry-joint exhaust elbow design angle on the engine—7° for 2002–2004 GM V6 and V8 small-block dry-joint applications, and 14° for 2005–2010 applications—rather than an angle built into the flat gasket itself.
